I began practicing Svaroopa® yoga in 2003 in search of relief from a life time of chronic pain...physically, mentally and emotionally. When I began experiencing positive and lasting changes, I knew I had to share this yoga style with others. In 2007, I entered the 700-hour teacher training program with Master Yoga Foundation (now the Svaroopa® Vidya Ashram or SVA) and began teaching as a certified Basic teacher of Svaroopa® yoga. In 2011, I became a fully Certified Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher (CSYT) as well as a Certified Embodyment® Yoga Therapist and Half Day Workshop Leader. I have the privilege of training with Master Teachers of Svaroopa® yoga including the founder of the yoga, Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati (formerly Rama Berch). I continue to study the Svaroopa® Yoga Sciences through professional training on the advanced level as a teacher and therapist with SVA hoping to deepen my own practice as well as that of my students.
In the classroom, I strive to listen and hear the needs of students while also providing the gentle "push" sometimes needed topromote growth and well-being. My teaching experience and training allows me to accommodate many types of students—beginner to advanced—providing changes and release along the spine on the physical level required for the transformations on the mental and emotional levels. I am also trained and experienced to work with people one-on-one in private sessions to help facilitate your specific needs and goals.
I look forward to sharing the gift of Svaroopa® yoga with you and helping you along your own personal journey.
